On his first solo CD Garth Knox brings together several key works of the twentieth century for the viola, from the ductile quiverings of James Dillon’s “Siorram” to the shadow theatre of Salvatore Sciarinno’s three nocturnes “Tre notturni brillanti”, through the imaginary folklore of György Ligeti’s “Sonata” and the choreographic pirouettes of “Sequenza VI” by Luciano Berio; a fascinating experience between silence and motion. The CD won the coveted Deutsche Schallplatten Preis in Germany. Can be heard on: www.musicme.com
